Practical considerations
The sealer is the wearing layer
On a sealed floor it is the sealer that takes the wear, not the concrete. Renewing it before it fails is routine maintenance; letting it fail is a much bigger job.
What actually damages a sealed floor
Acidic and harsh cleaners do more harm than traffic. A neutral cleaner and regular dust mopping is genuinely all most floors need.
Common questions
- Can you reseal a floor someone else installed?
- Usually, yes. We assess what is on there now, because the existing sealer determines what can go over it.
- How do I know when it needs resealing?
- Dulling in traffic paths, water no longer beading, and marks that will not clean off are the usual signs.
- Can a worn floor be brought back without a full re-grind?
- Sometimes. If the sealer has worn but the concrete beneath is sound, a reseal may be enough. If it has worn through, grinding is the honest answer.
