What we do in Hastings
Enquiries we receive for Hastings often involve working floors — warehouse, factory and workshop slabs where the priorities are durability, cleanability and safety rather than the highest possible gloss.
For these spaces we more often recommend grind and seal, a polished finish specified for industrial use, or a factory clean and dust seal where the slab is sound but neglected.
Most relevant services: factory cleaning and dust sealing and grind and seal .
Practical considerations
Forklifts and hot tyres change the answer
Where forklifts operate, some topical coatings can fail under hot tyre pickup. That is a case for a mechanically polished finish or an alternative system rather than a standard sealer.
Dust control on a working floor
An unsealed industrial slab sheds dust continuously. Dust sealing is often the cheapest single improvement to a working environment, and it protects equipment as well as people.
Line marking and staging
If the floor needs line marking, plan the sequence — marking goes down after the floor is finished, not before. Large sites usually need the work staged so operations continue.
Common questions
- Is polished concrete suitable for a warehouse?
- Yes — hardness, easy cleaning and light reflectivity all suit warehouse use. The specification differs from a domestic floor, and heavy vehicle traffic needs to be factored in.
- Can you clean and seal a floor without polishing it?
- Yes. A factory clean and dust seal is a practical option where the slab is structurally fine but dusty and dirty.
