An overlay is a decorative resurfacing layer. It is not a structural fix, and it will not solve movement or a failing slab.

- How do I know if my slab can be polished?
- We assess it. Patching, penetrations and previous repairs all count, and photos of the existing floor are usually enough for a first opinion.
- Does an overlay fix cracks?
- No. An overlay is a decorative resurfacing layer, not a structural repair. Movement has to be dealt with separately.
- How thick is an overlay?
- Thin — typically a few millimetres. That is low-profile, but it still affects doors, sills and levels where floors meet, so it is worth checking early.
